What is a reading of Akashic Records like?
The first time I booked a session to have my akashic records read to me, I had no idea what I was getting into nor what to expect really. I did not know what was going to happen, if I would be hypnotized or if there was something I would need to do. My friend who had talked to me about this resource had only anticipated that I would need to to give my full name and ask questions. I was skeptical about the information I would be receiving, I could not understand how anyone could access any other dimension of consciousness nor how. Until that point in my life, I was very much a control freak, a 100% logical and as a lawyer, I needed evidence to prove whatever new concept was introduced to me. So when I finally decided to book an Akashic Records Reading, it was only because my mother, who had a metastasized cancer was hospitalized and the doctors were asking us, her family, to make key decisions on her life. We had very mixed emotions and neither my father, my sister or myself could think without our hearts being torn apart. We needed desperate help and I sought it from the records.
I remember taking the stairs to the third floor of the apartment building where the reader was waiting for me. It was dark and I started to get scared. As I knocked on the door and the young lady opened the door, I noticed the room was dark too. The curtains were drawn blocking the light of a very busy Monday noon. There was just a dim reddish light on, a table, two chairs, and some paper and pens. I was very nervous and kept reminding myself that this lady had been referred to me by one of my best friends. I needed to trust my friend at least so I stayed. The lady was very nice, wrote down my full name, and the session started. Of course I was still doubting of whatever “psychic powers” this woman had and I did not want to give away any information about myself. The session started and this reader asked if I wanted to receive some messages or ask questions. I chose the former and that was the turning point. She started sharing the messages, basically talking about the time I was going through, what I was feeling, how to address these things, she described fully my present moment and emotions, she even mentioned my mother being ill. She could not describe me and my situation better. And that is when I started to believe. The reader could not possibly know any of the things she shared. So I opened up and asked questions. I did not know how to ask, or if there was a better way to ask. My questions were open and ambiguous and yet I received very detailed messages that were key for everything that followed.
Having been through the experience myself of not really knowing what a reading of Akashic Records is like, I decided to write this blog to walk you through what to expect. Please bear in mind that there are multiple schools, trainings and people doing this and each one has their own style and approach. So what I am sharing below is what you can expect from a reading of Akashic Records with me, Mariana.
Are readings in-person or online?
Both options are available. Online readings are through video calls. Whether it is in-person or online, it is important for both the reader and the consultant to be able to look at each other during the session.
What happens during a reading?
The reader and the consultant face each other, usually sitting in front of or next to each other, or through a screen if online. The session starts by giving your full name to me, the one that is in your legal documents. This is to make sure the reader opens your records and not someone else’s. Some readers will also ask for your date of birth. Then, the reader will say a prayer to invoke the Light to help protect the energy during the session, both yours and his/hers. Soon after that he/she will read out loud the Pathway Prayer which is the door to a deeper dimension of consciousness and will ask for permission to the Masters, Teachers and Loved Ones to access your records. She will repeat some of those sentences to himself/herself until the reader tells you “Your records are now open”. That means he/she is already accessing your records and will probably already be receiving messages that he/she will pass along to you as he/she receives them even when you have not said a word yet. If no messages are received or after sharing those initial ones, you will be able to ask questions.
What questions can I ask?
You can ask anything you want to know or have a doubt or need help with. You can ask questions or share a situation you are going through or relate behaviors you often find yourself repeating. There is no bad question. And the records play by the no judgement rule. So ask whatever is in your mind. Some examples for your guidance are:
should I change jobs/move/buy a car/house/guitar/a dog?
what do I do with my marriage/relation? should I divorce or keep fighting to make amends?
how can I help my friend/children/boss/partner with whatever they are going through?
will I have a baby?
what is preventing me from having a baby/the job of my dreams/economic stability/good health?
what do I need to learn from [a particular situation you relate/my children/person]?
why do I find it difficult to …?
why do I often fall in x pattern or behaviors?
how do I work on trusting/loving myself?
what is my mission in this life?
why do I have this disease or physical pain? what do I need to learn from it?
Once again, anything is valid and you can ask as many questions as you want, you can also ask clarifying questions around the messages you receive. There is no limit, other than time. Bear in mind that the reading is for you and you will benefit the most, the more questions you ask.
Is it possible that there are no messages for me?
No! Your records are there for you to access them any time and will always have something to share with you. They will let you know what you need to know at that time.
How long is the session?
Sessions are one hour long. However, it will all depend on how many questions you make or situations you consult.
Can I take notes of the messages received?
Of course! You can either take notes or record the session. I highly recommend you do at least one of them so you can go back to them any time. You may have picked certain things during the reading but days and weeks or even months after, other things will resonate with you as energy has moved and the healing process is in motion.
When is the session over?
When you have no more questions to ask, I will ask your records if there is any last message they want to share with you. After that, I will say a closing prayer out loud where I thank your masters, teachers, and loved ones for allowing me to access your records and for the information and healing received. I’ll finally say “Your records are now closed”. That is when the session is over.
What happens after the reading?
A healing process starts with the session and continues for several months after. Energy of those situations consulted will be moving and with that healing will occur. Because of that, it is good that every now and then after the reading, you read the notes you took or listen to the recording of the session. Different things will resonate with you then than what you picked up during the reading.
How often can I have a reading of my akashic records?
Because every healing process needs time, the suggestion is to have four to six months between readings. However, if you feel you need to access your records before then to receive particular guidance or you are using it as part of a coaching process, you can have a reading before then.
Now that you know exactly what an akashic records reading is like, take the next step and book a session. You will receive guidance, reassurance and valuable information in your path to self-discovery and development. You won’t regret it!
